We'll tell you straight when that's the case instead of quoting a repair that won't hold.
What You Pay
A service call gets you a full inspection of the door, track, springs, cables, rollers, and opener, plus a written explanation of what's worn versus what's failed. We don't have a flat number to publish here that would hold true for every job, because spring size, door weight, and opener age change what's actually needed - and we'd rather tell you that plainly than post a number that doesn't match your door. What we can tell you is what the diagnostic covers: balance test, cycle count estimate on the springs, opener force and safety-reversal check, and a look at whether the track alignment has shifted, which is common on the older torsion setups still running in this area.
If a repair isn't worth doing - say, an opener from the original build era where a new logic board costs close to a full replacement unit - we'll say so on the spot rather than run up a bill fixing something that's going to fail again next summer.

Heat above the door - especially on south or west-facing garages - pushes the opener's logic board and motor windings past their comfortable operating range. My house was built in the early 1990s - is the door original?
